Fall has arrived (Florida style)

It was a gorgeous day today, high of 76, woohoo!  I am loving the feeling of the cool air and nice breeze.  Inspired to be outdoors, I packed a picnic lunch and headed to the nearby lake to have a dinner picnic and play.

Who knew PB&J for dinner could be so fun?

Bitter sweet

Last weekend little girl and I flew to Ohio to see our family.  My sister's fiancĂ©e and passed away suddenly.  It was such a sad time, there were some sweet moments.

My sisters and brother

Little girl just loved meeting and playing with her cousins.  We got to visit our "Grandma Cindy" and even got to see Great-Grandma.

My heart still hurts for my sister's loss, and for the girls, who lost the only daddy they ever knew.

Girl Power

My mom came down for vacation from Ohio and stayed at Treasure Island.  My sis and I drove over to see her!  We had so much fun catching up, watching "Say Yes to the Dress" together and just having fun.  Mom & I both had our issues (my cast and her recent knee surgery) so there wasn't any beach time, but we still had a blast!

Say "Facebook!"

We went on a boat ride to see Dolphins...it was so neat.  They would jump out of the water right behind the boat.  Here's the only picture I got of them (they are fast).

Home day

The kids and I had fun at home today (Daddy wasn't feeling well and was in bed most of the day).

DD wanted her picture taken with this little puppy...

Insert here the tantrums & toy stealing/sharing talks that Mommy dealt with today (everyday can't be as perfect as I make it look :) sorry, no pictures).

DH's uncle and cousins were in town, so we met them for dinner. The kids were fairly good given the late hour and their hungry tummies, the key was distraction.

Over the Hill?

Saturday I entered my 30’s. With two kids, a minivan and a mortgage, I figured it was about time. I had a great afternoon with my step-mom Diane and some ladies from church – we went to a great place called “the Barn” in Lake Alfred and ate at a great tea room called “Lavender and Lace”.

Here’s my special birthday lunch…

We had a great time shopping and relaxing. Then that evening I met up with my in-laws and family at Sweet Tomatoes (yummo).

It was a really great day! Diane made me this beautiful cake…homemade strawberry icing (to die for.  DD claimed it was also her birthday…so she helped me open my cards!

Here's what I found at my cubicle this morning at work :-)
