Rewards are rewarding

This weekend I had a talk with little girl.  We agreed that if she would practice self-control by not sucking her thumb, that we would pick a special reward that she could earn.  She would have to wear a band-aid on her thumb every day, and go three weeks without sucking her thumb to gain her reward.  She agreed.

So off to Target we went in search of her special reward.  She even got to pick out special band-aids to help her “remember”.

I am so proud of her, we are on day four and she is doing a great job!

To home school or not to home school....

That is the question of the day!

My sweet little girl is going to be in Kindergarten in the fall.  Sigh.

So I better get it together and decide what we are going to do!

I've spent the morning visiting a couple private schools and starting to gather information on homeschooling and all the options that are available.

Friday Musings

It's Friday.

Smile.

Ever since I went back to part-time work this year, I have had Friday off. And it's my most favorite day. Usually I take DD to preschool in the morning, and DS and I head off to the grocery store together. But today the kids had Valentine parties at daycare/preschool...so I took them both in to make it easier.

I had a great morning planning my grocery shopping (scouring blogs and cutting out coupons). Then I headed off to Michaels (with a great 60% off coupon . . . more later on what I bought!), Office Depot, and the grocery store (in the pouring rain).

I LOVE getting my shopping done on Friday and knowing that the weekend is ahead of me and I'm prepared!

DH and I then headed over to the kids' parties. It was fun...mostly just a lot of little kids getting sugared up! But I really love all the sweet little valentine cards.

DD wrote all of the cards for her friends all by herself this year (ok, I helped a little).

SPLASH

We had a great relaxing weekend...we went to our little cousin's second birthday party in the park and had a great time (I will post pictures soon).  Then we went to swim in our neighbor's pool...

DD was doing so great, she was wearing her "arm floats" and was floating around on her own.   She would kick to the wall and back, and would jump in.  After a bathroom break, she got back in the pool without her floaties and....

SPLASH.

She jumped in the water and went under.  Thankfully Daddy was right there to snatch her up, so no harm done.  But it took Daddy, Mommy and our neighbor Rosemary hours to recover!!! :-)

So today I went to the YMCA -Abby starts swimming lessons tomorrow!

The big switch...

Last night was DD & DS's first night in the same room. DD was very excited, and I think DS was too, since he was jumping in his bed for the LONGEST time.

I did have to go in there 3 times to say - be quiet and go to sleep!! I think this might become the norm :-)

We are keeping Josh in his crib for a couple more nights, so he gets used to having DD in the room...then it's BIG BOY BED.

Notice in the picture that DS is in mid-air...I think he might want to be a gymnast when he grows up.
