Daybook: April 20, 2010

Out my window: still light out, but not for long!

I am listening to:  the tv...the kids are on the couch watching Pixar's "Shorts"

I am thankful for:  finding DD a great school to go to in the fall (part-time)!  (More on that in another post)

From the kitchen: I made my favorite BBQ chicken salad (like the one at Panera called the "BBQ Chopped Chicken Salad", and the kids had chicken nuggets and grapes.

I am creating:  not much creating going on right now.

I am reading: my bible, today I read in 1 Corinthians.

Around the house:  been organizing closets lately in preparation for homeschooling in the fall.  Need to make some room!

One of my favorite things:  thinking back on the fun birthday celebrations from this weekend.  I had a GREAT birthday.  Now to get back on the diet (I've been indulging way too much!)

A few plans for the rest of the week:  just hanging out at home mostly :-)  not much on calendar this week.

I am thinking: about watching Glee tonight!

Daybook: April 5, 2010

Out my window: a beautiful spring evening...I can hear the crickets chirping.

I am listening to: the kids in their room (supposed to be sleeping), Josh is singing "Here I am to Worship" (it's the cutest thing)

I am thankful for: having DH home this week, no travel planned.

From the kitchen: Dinner was Caesar salad and leftovers from this weekend: potato salad & broccoli casserole.

I am creating: I've been working on a "lap book" for Abby this week based on one of her books "Hot Dog".  She can read the whole thing herself, so we are practicing reading and writing some of the words from the book, as well as some word games.

I am reading: my bible, today I read in Matthew.

I am praying for: my sister (who's working out of town this week), my mom (who's recovering from knee surgery), and my step-grandmother Joan was on my heart this morning (Grandpa passed away last year).

Around the house: SO enjoyed coming home to a clean house today.  My fairy godmother (aka my cleaning lady) was here!

One of my favorite things: I took the kids to the lake today after work/school and we fed the birds, ducks and turtles.  It was a gorgeous afternoon and a nice time together.

A few plans for the rest of the week: working, closing out our current session of parenting class (week 19), leaders meeting at church on Friday night.

I am thinking: about watching Chuck with my honey when he gets done with his work! :-)

(I found the idea for this at http://fourlittlepenguins.blogspot.com, one of the many homeschooling blogs I'm reading now.)
